After the initial shock of the global pandemic wore off, I remembered thinking how much extra time I would have to devote to my new blog EveryDay Details Matter. However, starting a new job, homeschooling my pre-teen, entertaining my then three-year-old, and figuring out how to do life virtually seemed to drain any extra time and energy I had been given. There was also the lack of personal interaction and physical contact with friends, colleagues, and family that was very hard for an extroverted extrovert like me to handle. I longed for gatherings in my home and the opportunity to serve and entertain. It was quite some time before I remembered that "To Everything, There is a Season." The last 18 months have been challenging to say the least but I have also viewed them as a gift, an opportunity to examine what is important to me. Recently, I hosted an outdoor tea, celebrating the beginning of my favorite season and several special women in my life. While ideas of rebirth are usually more associated with spring, my initiative for resurgence took place this fall. Extremely fitting as my blog debuted two autumns ago with The Honduran Teapot and we are once again delving into the world of tea.
So in the spirit of resurgence, I am excited to announce taking my passion project to the next level. I have been encouraged by others to share more on the Everyday Details Matter Lifestyle, reminding my readers that the idea is about making the everyday special rather than stressing over the details on an everyday basis (who has time for that?). As life allows, incorporate the simple pleasures of beauty and romance and nostalgia into your everyday activities.
Over the next few months, you will see a new brand look and an enhanced website featuring more blogs relating to entertaining, travel, lifestyle, literature, and more. I cannot wait to share my event planning tips, favorite websites, and ideas from a world past with you all! In the meantime, I hope these images from my autumn tea inspire you to create something simply beautiful in your life, remembering that the Everyday Details Matter.
